    1. We tend to focus on either Roman history, Anglo-Saxon History (which includes the Angles, Saxons and Jutes), Viking history and Norman history. The fact is, all of these periods were linked. The Roman period ended but overlapped the Anglo-Saxon period, the Saxon and Viking period ran concurrently and the Norman period overlapped both the Viking and Anglo-Saxon periods but put an end to both. I can understand your confusion GP! – I felt exactly the same way when I started studying this period of history. I hope (for my sake and for those that read these posts), to make it as understandable as possible.
